Acupuncture

Cupping

About Us
Dr. Cara Kovats, DACM - Licensed Acupuncturist
Dr. Cara’s journey in the health field started while she was a student at Monmouth University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and Gerontology. After graduating with honors, she continued her education in alternative medicine at Kula Kamala Yoga School and Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. Dr. Cara graduated from acupuncture school with knowledge in Five Element style, TCM style, and Kiiko Japanese style acupuncture.
Following her acupuncture studies, she returned to complete the 18-month intensive TCM Herbal Degree at Eastern School and later in 2022 went on to complete her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. Dr. Cara has had extensive continuing education using electric stimulation and acupuncture, also known as Neuropuncture and EAMedicine.
During the winter of 2020, Dr. Cara had a unique opportunity to study in Sri Lanka, where she explored healing benefits of essential oils in acupuncture treatments, addressing the mind, body, and soul at profound levels. Essential oils are often part of Dr. Cara’s acupuncture treatments and she also offers needle-less essential oil acupoint treatments.
As a co-founder of Microessence, Dr. Cara is passionate about sharing her expertise with fellow acupuncturists. Her dedication extends beyond personal growth, as she continuously learns and studies health, acupuncture, and microneedling. Dr. Cara is committed to expanding public awareness of the transformative benefits that natural medicine can bring into people's lives and is looking forward to helping others on their healing journey.
